Welcome to Edge Notes...
Updated: May 14

Sharp thinking on AI and business productivity.
Why we're starting this
Every week, another headline tells you AI is about to either save your business or sink it. Every week, another vendor promises a tool that'll 10x your team overnight. And every week, Australian leaders quietly ask the same question behind closed doors:
"Right — but what actually works?"
That question is why Edge Notes exists.
This isn't another blog telling you the robots are coming. It's a field journal from the trenches — written for the operators, founders, and executives who have to make real decisions with real money on real timelines. The ones who don't have the luxury of being wrong twice.
What you'll find here
Edge Notes is the working notebook of ArgentEdge — the ideas, experiments, and lessons we pick up helping Australian businesses turn AI from a buzzword into a bottom-line result. Expect three things, consistently:
Playbooks, not predictions. We'll show you what we've actually deployed, what broke, and what shipped. If we can't point to a workflow, a number, or a process change, we won't write about it.
Signal over noise. The AI space moves fast and most of it doesn't matter. Our job is to filter the firehose so you get the 20% of developments that genuinely shift how you should run your business — and skip the 80% that won't.
A distinctly Australian lens. Most AI commentary comes from San Francisco, written for companies with venture funding and 500 engineers. We're writing for the Australian mid-market, the founder-led firm, the services business, the operations team trying to do more with what they've got. Different game, different rules.
What we won't do
We won't hype. We won't fear-monger. We won't pretend AI is magic, and we won't pretend it's a fad. We won't recommend tools we haven't put through their paces, and we won't dress up vendor marketing as insight.
If a piece of tech genuinely earns its place in your stack, we'll tell you. If it's a solution looking for a problem, we'll tell you that too.
Who this is for
Edge Notes is written for the people who actually have to deliver — CEOs, founders, ops leaders, and the curious-but-sceptical executive who suspects there's real value in AI but is tired of the wishful thinking surrounding it. If you're allergic to jargon and you want to know what AI means for your P&L this quarter, you're in the right place.
What's next
Over the coming weeks, we'll be publishing on:
The AI productivity gains we're seeing in real Australian businesses (and the ones that turned out to be mirages)
How to run a 90-day AI pilot without setting fire to your operating budget
Where leaders are getting AI adoption catastrophically wrong — and the cheap fixes
Honest reviews of the tools we use every day at ArgentEdge
We publish when we have something worth saying. No content calendar quotas, no SEO-stuffed filler. Quality over cadence.
So pour a coffee, bookmark the page, and let's get into it.
The hype cycle will keep spinning. Edge Notes is where we cut through it.
